The 2006 seminar organised by the Western Australian Chapter of the IAH was held on Thursday 27 July at the City West Function Centre in Perth. The seminar included a number of presentations on the importance of groundwater in the current resources boom in Western Australia. The seminar theme was "Groundwater supporting the resources boom" and included the topics:

Groundwater exploration
Water supplies
Dewatering
Environmental issues
Regulatory environment
Water use and efficiency
