SUSTAINABILITY OF GROUNDWATER RESOURCES

The 2007 seminar of the Western Australian Chapter of the IAH was held on 6 July. The theme was Sustainability of Groundwater Resources, with its environmental, economic and social aspects. The broader meaning of sustainability was explored in different contexts and interesting case studies was presented, including the South West Yarragadee and Yandi Mine in the Pilbara. Invited speakers came from water utility, consulting, and government agencies.

The seminar topics included:

  • The concept of sustainability
  • Gnagara Mound
  • South West Yarragadee
