OECD report on agricultural GW management

Friday 18 December, 2015

The OECD recently published a comprehensive report on agricultural groundwater use management. The report provides a characterization of the diversity of groundwater systems, assesses the advantages and drawbacks of a large range of management instruments to address groundwater depletion and environmental externalities, reviews policies in OECD countries and proposes a package of recommendations to ensure that groundwater can sustain its services to agriculture and contribute to climate change adaptation.

It is accompanied by 16 country profiles, providing specific information on agricultural groundwater use and management instruments at the national and/or regional level.

Both can be accessed at http://www.oecd.org/tad/sustainable-agriculture/groundwater-use.htm
